Testimonials
Hey Frank, Scott, and all...

First, post this letter...I've read the others.  Now its time to send my own.

Can you believe it?  I'm writing to my mechanic!?

Point is living farther away from Cambridge I've been searching for any shop that would provide what you do.  However, until my return to Hondar House I was not certain what that was.  So, I had brought my car locally (out here in Acton, ugh...) yet I have never felt comfortable departing with my car after any such repairs.  I recently brought my care in-town to **************, but even there...its missing.  I took on faith their words that the labor concerning a $20.00 part actually totaled $170.00.  I was a number and I'll never go back.

Today (or yesterday as I write this letter) its so obvious!  Your service is markedly different.  I can converse with the mechanics.  You demonstrate on my car what you're talking about.  You provide the highest quality repairs I've ever had done.  You have consistently provided top grade work, thorough work, quality parts, comprehensive examinations, comprehensive explanations, and notes about what else is needed or pending.

In short, I left you shop yesterday feeling confident in my car.  The doubts about its condition were erased because I was informed about what was going on with my car.  You showed me.  You repaired what is needed and I left with my questions answered.

Keep it up!  Your mechanics are fantastic!  The accessibility to the bays, to the car, your instructions and demos are invaluable.  I'm again, so very impressed.  Your customers are no fools.  You treat them intelligently, courteously, and professionally.  I'm back.  Thanks for your confidence.

Gratefully,

R. Ian Boren

Testimonials
To whom it may concern:

My name is Xenia Johnson and this letter is in reference to an unpleasant experience that I had on November 11, 1999 at ***************.

I own an '88 Acura Integra and had taken it to *********** shop to have it serviced, specifically requesting an exhaust system replacement, replacement of a valve gasket and winterization.  I was told during my encounter with this auto shop that I also needed clutch and transmission replacement.  I was charged ($250) for what the mechanic called necessary removal of the transmission, despite being also told that none of the work could be done on the clutch until the transmission was replaced.

I took my car to another automotive service shop, Hondar House (which I understand has an exemplary record with the Better Business Bureau) and was told that in their professional opinion the transmission had not been taken out of my car in the last six months and that the valve gasket had not been replaced.  In addition ****** at ********** shop disclosed to Frank Augello of Hondar House that he had not done the work on the transmission that he had charged to me.  ****** even attempted to convince Frank to collude in deceiving me.  Needless to say, I was dumbfounded and terribly disheartened and although I went back to *********** shop, I was refused a refund for the money that I was charged deceptively.

I am thankful to businesses such as Hondar House that exercise honest and respectful service and hope that this letter helps ensure that dishonest business practice such as that at **************** does not go unregulated.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Respectfully yours,

Xenia Johnson, MD

Testimonials
To whom it may concern....

Recently I had the misfortune of my car breaking down while traveling into Boston.  I was from out of town and was very concerned about who would fix my car.  My brother recalled a service station, in the Cambridge area, where he had his car serviced 10 years ago and suggested since his experience was good that I should try them.

I arrived at 8 AM, without calling ahead, and my car was immediately taken into a bay.  One gentleman took it for a ride and when he returned two other men joined him in assessing the situation.  In turn two additional men took the car for a test ride and when they returned five men worked on the car.  After about twenty minutes of deliberation they asked me to come into the garage.  They explained I had a broken fuel pump and told me how much it would cost.  I considered the price to be reasonable.  We were already a day late returning home and because of this they said they would finish the job as quickly as possible.  The job was complete at 1 PM and I drove back to Maine without any problems at all.

This letter is to recognize the people who own and work at Hondar House for their A-1 service.  Their customer service was commendable as well as their repair service.  I would not hesitate to use their services again or refer my friends and colleagues to Hondar House.

Sincerely,

Ellen C. Raibert
